Amen Bob, we share the same outlook on the hobby. Definitely put your health first (although if your getting as much thunder and lightning as we are here in MD, golf could be dangerous). If only there were and extra hour each day and an extra day each week then maybe I'd have time enough for my hobbies.

    Dave,

We need some rain down here in Portsmouth/Norfolk. It seems like it's all around us, but all we're getting is drops. A few weeks ago it was pouring down. It was cool too but now the 90 degree stuff has settled in. I expect it'll be this way until October.

    Dubar,

You've gone above and beyond to help members of this forum get into the MDFC for DX09 and that deserves credit (especially so, considering all of the "politics" involved). Well done!

    Best Regards,

    Thanks Dave!

I know folks have had a hard time with MDFC, me included, but it's kinda like that old saying "keep your friends close and your enemies closer"!!!

For the most part I think the admins there have been fair to most everyone, especially since they have to tow-the-line with DML. It's DMLs site and if they want things a certain way then so be it. It's the comments they make that when you read them you know they're blowing smoke sometimes.

I think some pretty nasty things have been said all around and best thing to do sometimes is try to start fresh, although I think there's a few individuals who go out of their way to thump Dragon every chance they get. It doesn't take long to figure out who they are and I usually take what they say with a grain of salt. I've even had admins from other forums PM me trying to get me to stop promoting Dragon. But I tell them all I'm trying to do is get the word out, whatever it may be, nothing more. I sure don't get any benefit from it. I've been told the MDFC admins get a figure of their choice each month.

I think all anybody should do is look at their product and if there's anything they want then get it, if not pass it up. The only real gripe I ever have with DML is when they put half the gear in with a figure (like leaving out parachutes, or oxygen masks for pilots), but as long as someone offers parts or enough data to make your own then I can decide if a figure is worth buying.

I hope this online thing goes well. Depending on the cost to play I may or may not join in. I recently started playing golf again (trying to shed some lbs) and between that, the 1/6 stuff, and my O scale train addiction my retirement $$$ are being stretched to the limit! O scale trains ain't cheap and green fees to play golf are getting outrageous plus it takes all day long. There's a course about a mile from my house that is only $15 for 18 holes. When I was a kid it was $3 for all day long!

    Thanks and keep in touch,
    Bob

I'm working on some great Luftwaffe figure ideas after quite a bit of time away from the hobby, inspired in many ways by your work.
    Thanks,
    Edgar

    Edgar,
Glad to hear it! Your comments have really helped me too.

I know what you mean too. I was kinda burned out until I realized I could make this thing work. The last 6 months have been a blast.

My next project may be a Cockle MK2 Canoe, but I may kick back a while before I start or I may go for another aircraft.

    Thanks,
    Bob
